2024 First Place in Wayfinding Signage at the BOAs

We are delighted to share that City Image Signs has been awarded with First Place in the wayfinding category for the ASA’s Best of Alberta (BOA) in Signage & Graphics 2024

The annual program is presented by The Alberta Sign Association with various sponsors for the event. The awards gala celebrates creativity and innovation in the signage & graphics industry across Alberta. There were sign companies all across the province that entered eight (8) categories for this years annual awards, and we are so proud that CIS was chosen as one of the winners.

Another huge congrats to the other sign companies that were nominated and successful in winning an award at this year’s gala – it is always an honour to see what has been accomplished in our industry and how other companies are pushing the boundaries on what is possible!

About the signage for the Magrath Professional Centre

CIS collaborated with Pinpoint (the design consultant) and JLL Real Estate (the client) on a variety of wayfinding signage solutions for the Magrath Professional Centre in Edmonton.

There are three (3) interior freestanding directory signs that combine multiple layers of white & painted blue acrylic sections with a walnut faux-wood vinyl to compliment the architectural aesthetic of the space. The overall shape and side profile of the signs are custom to offer a dynamic look.

We also supplied and installed sixteen (16) sets of wall tenant identifiers for each unit, which consist of white & blue aluminum sections with vinyl graphics beside each door on the second & third levels. The upper portion of these directories have a mini projecting shape that is applicated with walnut vinyl paired with each corresponding unit digit. Each unit door has a custom shaped privacy film applicated to the face of the glass to unify the overall look of the units in relation to the building’s branding.

In addition, we provided eight (8) small sized plaques (6.25in square), and five (5) medium sized plaques (8in x 10in) that are fabricated out of multiple layers of acrylic, braille and tactile elements to direct people through the facility and identify critical spaces.

Lastly, we partnered with JLL on the execution of an exterior illuminated fascia sign above the main entrance of the building. The fascia sign consists of face-illuminated channel letters that are mounted to a custom carrier box which is painted to match the building facade.

CIS executed on the production & installation of the cohesive wayfinding plan, designed by Pinpoint, to match the modern architecture of the space for the three levels of the Magrath Professional Centre.
