2024 Women in Signs Winner – Christine Hykawy

We are overjoyed to share that our very own Christine Hykawy (welder) has been awarded as one out of the five incredible women that have won the “2024 Women in Signs” award. There were more than 100+ nominees entered into this years annual award, and we are so proud that Christine was chosen as one of the winners.

The fourth-annual program is put on by The Signs of the Times magazine, and is sponsored by the International Sign Association (ISA), Fujifilm, Fellers and Mimaki. The program honours exceptional women who have excelled in ownership/management, fabrication, installation, design, sales or marketing.

More About Christine

Christine has 20+ years of aluminum and exotic metals and weight, welding and fabrication experience. She is a key member of our fabrication team and helps contribute to the overall efficiencies and longevity of the signage projects that she works on. Notable projects that she has worked on while at City Image Signs were the fascia signs for Sports Illustrated, the unique building sign for the Canadian Ice House, various signage for The Banquet in the Ice district and the Sobeys signage. She is a “Women Building Futures” graduate alumni from class 16 (2003), and she is Red Seal Certified which allows her to operate anywhere in Canada.

Christine not only breaks the barriers as a Woman in Signs, but does so within the historically male-centric field of welding. Her outlook and experience allow her to be a great candidate for this prestigious award and we are so proud that she was selected as a Winner! Congratulations on your outstanding achievement Christine!
