The Calgary Farmers’ Market Building Signage located in Melcor’s Greenwich Village Development in Calgary are like no other building signs within Alberta, and perhaps even the country as a whole.

The mammoth 10’5″H x 145’W LED illuminated CALGARY FARMERS’ MARKET channel letters offer a tip of the cap to the now famous Public Market Centre signage in Seattle through their powerful, yet elegant presence above the market. These towering letters not only serve well in welcoming visitor’s to the newly built 54,000sq/ft facility, but paired with (5) additional non-illuminated cabinet signs measuring from 16-18’H x 11′-12’W, these monumental building signs also serve as an unmistakable icon for transient traffic along Highway 1 and Stony Trail alike.

The large set of channel letters on the south elevation were engineered and fabricated with 2″ trim-cap reinforced with aluminum clips, 5″D 0.060 custom painted aluminum returns, 1/8″ aluminum backs, while the illumination was completed with 1.2W 7000K LEDs, shining through 3/16″ white lexan faces with vinyl applied to the first surface. The letters were mounted to a structural steel frame with 134 thru-bolt fasteners through 1/2″ steel frame.

The (5) custom shaped cabinet signs are non-illuminated, and are fabricated out of 2”x2”x3/16” Angle Aluminum and a 6mm ACP face with 1/4″ acrylic letters for the logo. The red is custom painted with an AkzoNobel paint system in a semi-gloss finish. 🥕🍎
